This is already happening and has been for a while with plenty of hiccups and issues, but as the tech progresses, we predict that we'll be able to see a considerable increase in the accuracy of and subtlety of user-centric promotion.

It will analyze user behavior, learn from it, and use that information to improve the user experience. Social media advertising could become more seamless with the user experience, meaning a higher conversion rate, and likely a more positive experience for users who may otherwise dislike advertising.
Another area where AI will play a significant role is in content creation. We're already seeing AI-powered tools that can help generate captions, hashtags, and even entire social media posts, like ChatGPT. (Though we wouldn't recommend simply letting it do everything...).
As this technology improves, we can expect to see more sophisticated tools that can create high-quality, engaging content that resonates with audiences.
But we all need to be careful with this, too. While it has been said for decades that AI would cause unforeseen problems for web content and SEO, it has been unclear to what extent Google and other search engines have been penalizing AI-generated content.
Seo.ai suggests that Google no longer takes quite such a strong stance against AI-generated content, but it is still safer to ensure strong editing and apply a human touch. Spammy content will still not likely go down well, and if it's particularly bad, your humans may be able to pick up on it as well.
It's still possible for people to pick up on a lot of AI created content, especially when it is longer form like a guide, ebook, or even a blog article.
We can also expect to see AI being used more in social media moderation. AI-powered tools (such as Facelift AI!) can help find and remove harmful or inappropriate content, like hate speech or fake news, before it spreads on social media with vastly greater accuracy than it may have in the past.
Hopefully, this means that social media managers can spend less time weeding through troll comments, and more time engaging with the community that matters.
AI chatbots have been with us for a while - a long while, actually, and they're actually very common on social media these days, especially in places such as Facebook's Messenger, where they can be really useful for assisting with simple follower inquiries such as opening hours, directions, or other basic company information.
Similar chatbots can be seen all over the websites of SaaS companies - like ours! They aren't yet able to provide solutions to all problems and are often more of a gatekeeper for a human customer service or community management team, but in the future, we may see artificial intelligence and social media coming together in a more powerful way to solve countless complex problems in a fraction of the time.
Still, we don't think they'll be replacing human customer service entirely any time soon.
The future of artificial intelligence and social media is exciting, and it's clear that AI will play a critical role in shaping the future of our favorite social platforms. However, it's also important to remember that, as with any new technology, there are ethical and social implications to consider, and those implications are unlikely to become any less severe as this technology develops.
Importantly, AI is not currently a replacement for human social media managers, who will still need to be in control of the AI, feed it accurate and useful information, good prompts, and be there to monitor what it says while thinking critically about its language.
While the future is bright, the present still requires the human touch, and we recommend caution, especially when it comes to content that is purely AI-generated, whether it is for social media or for the web.
