Planning at scale only works when your content foundation, your publishing process, and your permissions keep up. This autumn, Orchestrate gives you more flexible ways to organise content, a clearer view of how your plan is structured, publishing that explains itself when something goes wrong, and the access control enterprise teams need for sensitive work. The result: less manual effort, fewer surprises, and more confidence in the plan you present to your stakeholders.
More Flexible Content Planning and Organization
Organise every piece of content the way your plan actually works
Not all communication fits into a fixed publishing slot, and not all content is created in Facelift. Native posts published directly on the networks and non-social activities such as newsletters or events have been harder to organise alongside planned content, which leaves gaps in your overview and in your reporting.
We are improving the underlying Orchestrate content foundation to unlock new ways of organising and planning content. The first two customer-facing outcomes are:
- Native Post Tagging lets you add tags to native posts that were published outside of Facelift and synced into Orchestrate. Native posts become part of the same organisational structure as planned content, so you can categorise them consistently, find them more easily, and use them in reporting and downstream workflows.
- Unscheduled Non-Social Content Types let you create and manage non-social content without assigning a publication date straight away. This supports planning workflows where the content is already known and relevant but the timing is still open, for example newsletters, articles, events, or other communication activities. You capture these items early and schedule them once the plan becomes more concrete.
Both capabilities are enabled by a larger consolidation of Orchestrate content data. That work also improves performance for complex planning views and creates a stronger foundation for analytics, APIs, and AI-driven workflows.
Calendar Grouping
See how your plan is structured, not just what is scheduled
A flat calendar is good for seeing what is scheduled, but it becomes difficult to understand larger planning patterns across campaigns, channels, formats, or other content dimensions.
The new Grouped Calendar View organises planned content by the dimensions that matter to your plan:
- Frames
- Content Types
- Networks
- Channels
Instead of piecing patterns together manually, you can compare planning areas directly in the calendar and see how content is distributed across campaigns, channels, or formats, where there are gaps or imbalances, which areas are heavily planned and which are underrepresented, and how different parts of the plan compare over time.
Complex content plans become easier to understand and easier to manage, especially in multi-market and multi-channel setups.
More Transparent and Reliable Publishing
Know what went wrong, why, and what to do next
For teams publishing at high volume, failures and unclear statuses create significant operational effort. You often cannot tell what went wrong, whether action is required, or how to fix an issue without involving support.
We are making content creation and publishing issues easier to understand and resolve directly in Facelift:
- Clearer status information throughout creation, scheduling, validation, and publishing.
- Understandable failure reasons instead of technical or unclear error messages.
- Concrete next steps to resolve an issue.
- Earlier validation to prevent avoidable publishing problems before they happen.
- Better visibility into repeated issues and operational bottlenecks.
When something goes wrong, you can immediately see what happened, why it happened, and what you need to do next. At the same time, more issues are detected before publishing, which reduces failed posts, unnecessary troubleshooting, and dependency on support. High-volume publishing becomes more predictable, more recoverable, and easier to operate at scale.
Orchestrate Workflows Beyond the Facelift UI
Use your Orchestrate data in the systems your teams already work in
Orchestrate holds the plan, but your organisation runs on more than one system. Until now, working with Orchestrate data outside the Facelift interface was not readily possible.
We are opening up selected Orchestrate data and workflows so they can be used by external systems:
- New read and CRUD API endpoints for selected Orchestrate objects.
- A reusable foundation for AI-driven workflows.
- The required permission and workflow patterns to make these capabilities reusable and secure.
This lets us address the first customer integration use cases as they arise, for example when you want your own systems or AI assistants to access Facelift data or trigger supported actions. It also creates one shared technical foundation across Facelift, so capabilities can expand step by step based on concrete use cases.
Secure Task Collaboration with ACM and ACL
Collaborate on confidential work without exposing it to everyone
Tasks often contain information that should not be visible to everyone in an organisation, such as confidential campaign work, internal responsibilities, or team-specific activities. Until now, task access was not controlled by a dedicated permission model, which made it difficult for enterprise teams in particular to use tasks for sensitive or restricted work.
Tasks now support granular access control on two levels:
- ACM at team level defines which teams are allowed to access a task or board.
- ACL at user level grants access to individual users where more precise control is needed.
This applies to both individual tasks and Restricted Boards. Restricted Boards provide a protected space for confidential work: only the defined audience can access the board, and tasks created within it automatically follow the board's access context. For individual tasks, teams and users can be added to the audience so access can be controlled independently where needed.
With this, you can create tasks for specific teams or individual users, keep confidential work inside Restricted Boards, control who can see and work with individual tasks, assign responsibilities without exposing a task across the organisation, and make sure people only see the tasks that are relevant and accessible to them.
Task management becomes safe to use across larger and more complex organisations. Teams collaborate on sensitive or specialised work without exposing it company-wide, while administrators and task owners keep clear control over access.
Universal Activity Log
A reliable record of what changed, who changed it, and when
It can be difficult to understand how an object changed over time, who made a change, or what happened during an approval process. Today that often means scrolling through comments or asking colleagues.
A consistent Activity Log is introduced for Post-Sets, Frames, and Content, recording:
- Key changes
- Approval actions and rejection reasons
- Timestamps and responsible users
- Relevant before-and-after changes
You can trace approval decisions, rescheduling, content changes, and other important actions directly on the object. This creates more transparency and accountability, improves handovers, and provides a reliable history for compliance and audit needs.
Continuous Workflow Improvements
Everyday interactions that behave the way you expect
Alongside the larger features, we keep closing smaller workflow gaps, aligning interaction patterns, and refining existing experiences across Stories, Tasks, Boards, Frames, and Content. Current highlights:
- New Calendar Markers for lightweight planning context such as public holidays, awareness days, and seasons. Choose from the available calendars or upload your own iCal calendar. Markers appear as background context in the calendar without becoming full content or event objects.
- More consistent assignment and parent-child interactions across Stories and Tasks.
- New team assignment modals for a clearer assignment experience.
- Better navigation and context through breadcrumbs across connected Orchestrate objects, plus new toast notifications.
- Improved Story and Task Kanban and Bucket Views with clearer status visibility, stronger visual hierarchy, and more polished animations.
- Approval Dashboard revision, including the separation of publishing date and approval deadline for more intuitive use.
Common interactions behave more predictably, important context is easier to understand, and you can plan with relevant calendar context directly visible alongside your content.
